The aim of the course is to give information about biomasses and the possbile their use to produce bioenergy and bio-products by biological, chemical and physical processes.

Introduction: Biomesses: definition and classificaiton Biomasses: chemical-physical characteristics Part 1 Solid state process: organic amendment production; solid refuse fuels production Anaerobic process wet and dry: biogas production; hydrogen production. Part 2 Biotrasnformation processes: - bioethanol; -innovative process: supercritical fluids Part 3 - Agricultural use of biomasses: - digestate use; - biosolids use; - compost use; - agroindustrial waste use. Part 4 Case studies: on field visit.
