Learning objectives
This laboratory aims to provide students with the knolwedge of spaces and sites of scientific knowledge throughout the pre-modern times (1400-1800), outlining the relationship between laboratorial spaces or places and natural spaces, with a specific attention to historical continuities and discontinuities in European and extra-European contexts.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will manage to gain expertise and knowledge concening the role of spaces and places in the construction of pre-modern science as a human enterprise, generally set in opposition to nature (and natural places). Students will acquire critical instruments to read and understand the main references to the history of science, isolating the different attempts to deal with the different natures. Students will acquire historical knowledge and expertise by a direct exchange with the professor.
