Teaching Workshop: Archival Workshop

The main objectives of the workshop are to offer an overview of the processes of valorisation of historical archives in the digital environment and to provide concrete opportunities to confront the methodological problems posed by the management and inventorying of archival fonds.

At the end of the workshop, the students will have gained a concrete idea of the professional profile of the archivist; they will also be able to master, at a basic level, the main archival description standards (in particular ISAD and ISAAR) in addition to the discipline-specific terminology. The workshop will foster the habit of discussion between students and lecturer and the sharing of critical reflections matured during the classroom exercises and some visits to institutions with archival holdings.
