"Musical Myths: from Orpheus to the meme"
Myth interprets the world through narrative. Music, as a social action, is itself an interpretation of life. Musical myths are therefore privileged sites for observing how the human condition, over the centuries, tends to create reality rather than simply understand it. Since content (narrative) and communicative medium interact, the course reflects on contemporary modes of music circulation (performance, social media, streaming) in order to identify the myths generated by modernity and examine their differences from ancient traditions.
