Course syllabus
The course is structured as a reading series on the relationship between man and nature in the Middle Ages. Among the topics covered: the creation of the world and the role assigned to the man in it according to the medieval exegesis of the Bible, nature in scientific treatises, and the relationship with food in various social contexts, with particular attention to the monastic context. Basic notions of writing and editing audio content will also be provided.

Teaching Resources
A handout of texts, images, and tips for further study will be distributed in class. Further materials will be made available on the Ariel platform. Students who wish to do so may download the free software Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/download/) for editing audio files.
