Learning objectives
The aim of the workshop is to provide students a concrete knowledge of main issues of global international relations of European Continent, particularly along XX Century. This objective will be pursued with the support of broad archival and bibliographic sources, mainly in English, Italian and French.
Expected learning outcomes
On a methodological perspective, students are expected to acquire, by means of a critic approach, a broad comprehension of the main archival sources on recent European international relations. By the end of the workshop, they shall be able to explain long-term and large-scale historical developments, and to evaluate the centrality of turning points in recent European global history, on the political, social, and cultural point of view.

Course syllabus
The aim of this Workshop is to provide the methodological and theoretical framework in order to research historical and cultural dynamics between European States and other cultures, from late XIX Century to the current EC/EU. Class attendance is optional.
NON attending students will have to arrange an alternative program with the lecturer, since the very beginning of the Workshop. They also have to write a brief report over historical sources one can find over one of these topics:
- Balance of Power in Europe and Late XIX Century Imperialism;
- International relations between I and II World War;
- Postwar European Integration: internal cooperation and foreign politics.
Prerequisites for admission
There are no specific requirements different from those requested for degree admission.
Teaching methods
After frontal lessons, students will be required to briefly present the results of their work in the classroom.
The confrontation with the lecturer will be permanent.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Method and type of evaluation:
In order to obtain 3 CFU, students will be evaluated at the end of the course. In addition to attending lessons, all students will have to work on materials and historical sources provided by the lecturer, and to discuss them in the classroom.
Evaluation criteria: ability on critical reflection on the completed work, quality, efficacy and clarity of public presentation, ability on team work.
The format of the evaluation for students with disabilities/DSA should be arranged in advance with the lecturer.
