Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the workshop the student will have to know the main phases of the evolution of the relationship between territorial and commercial systems in a historical and geographical perspective. They will also learn how these changes can evolve in the future at different scales.
Moreover, students should be able to use social geography tools to analyze these changes.

How are commercial spaces organized in relation to the changes in the consolidated city?
The workshop aims to explore the practices of urban sustainability and commercial resilience using the key concepts of place, non-place and hyper-place. The focus will be on the development and centrality of these spaces, with a review of their development and centrality. On the one hand, the attention will be focused on large retail structures and, on the other, on associations between traditional stores, aimed at implementing resilience practices.
