The seminar is delivered through lectures geared to providing the students with the essential tools to read and think critically about primary and secondary sources in English as well as to write short academic texts (Academic arguments) in the Second Language.
These skills will be first acquired through practical class-activities designed to improve the historical thinking and argumentative writing of academically diverse students; incidentally, the seminar will also focus on expanding vocabulary and structure knowledge. Second, students will be required to draft a short academic paper on the basis of the reading and discussion of the essays and primary sources taking place during lectures. Class discussion during lectures is an integrant part of the didactic method and aims at promoting critical thinking and the ability to apply the acquired competence and knowledge.
