Learning objectives
The teaching aims to provide the student with the basic conceptual tools necessary to frame environmental policies in a geographical perspective. Environmental issues will be discussed and critically framed within active sustainability policies and practices, with particular reference to protected areas, agroecological systems, climate change, energy transition and air pollution.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to learn about the milestones in the development of environmental policies in recent decades. They will also be able to reflect critically and measure themselves against the main theoretical-methodological issues related to the discipline, also using the bibliographic resources specific to the field of environmental policies.
At the end of the course students will be able to use the acquired knowledge to understand the debate on environmental policies from a geographical perspective, and will therefore be able to adopt appropriate methodologies for the critical analysis of concrete experiences related to the application of environmental policies in various fields. Finally, they will be able to interpret these processes with an appropriate geographical approach and will be able to report on them using an appropriate disciplinary vocabulary.
