Pharmacogenetics and Epigenetics in Toxicology
A.Y. 2018/2019
Learning objectives
This course will provide the basic knowledge to understand the molecular basis of the genetic differences in metabolic pathways which may affect individual responses to CBP; furthermore, it will set the theoretical basis for understanding how these individual responses might be influenced by the epigenoma and can be epigenetically inherited. The concepts of germline (single nucleotide polymorphisms) and epigenetic mutations will be developed to understand how genomic and epigenomic mutations contribute to the differential susceptibility to xenobiotics. The impact of the sequencing of the human genome will be discussed in light of the most updated genomic technologies applied to pharmacotoxicology and ecotoxicology fields.
