Active Molecules from Natural Sources as Pharmacological Tools
A.Y. 2018/2019
Learning objectives

Course syllabus
The program of the course can be split into two parts: a general one, during which broad concepts relevant for the course will be explained (general definitions of active molecule, study of the factors that can affect its quantity and quality, pharmacokinetics, bio-fractionation) and a specific part during which we will take into consideration examples of molecules that have been modified to develop drugs currently in use (e.g. salicylates and aspirin, taxol and anticancer drugs, cocaine and lidocaine). At the end of the course we will carry out a simulation of the exam.
