Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce students to applied quantitative methods used in the economic analysis of climate change. It focuses on tools for assessing both the economic impacts of climate-related phenomena and the effectiveness of mitigation and adaptation policies at different scales, from global to national and sectoral. By the end of the course, students will have developed a solid understanding of the main empirical and modelling approaches in climate economics and will be able to apply these tools to real-world policy and research questions.
Expected learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand and implement quantitative tools for assessing the economic consequences of climate change and climate policies. In addition, students will develop the ability to critically interpret empirical results, assess the limitations of various modelling frameworks, and carry out applied analyses using climate and economic data in appropriate software environments.
