Environmental electrochemistry

The course aims to provide a comprehensive and deep knowledge on the principles regulating electrochemistry-based strategies for environment protection. A survey of methods for pollution sensing, purification and remediation of wastewaters, airborne streams and soils will be given.

In the first part of the course, the student will learn basic concepts in electrochemistry and on the most conventional methods for environmental remediation and pollutants quantitative determination. The second part aims to provide a deep knowledge on electrochemistry-based methods for environmental protection, pollution monitoring, separation and remediation. At the end, the student will be able to choose the best electrochemistry-based strategy to monitor, separate or destroy a single pollutant or mixture in water, soil or air.
