Unit role and responsibilities

The office promotes the educational offerings of the University abroad and, with regard to European and extra-European mobility programmes, oversees all administrative procedures related to incoming and outgoing students, professors, research fellows and technical-administrative and library staff.

Activities

In particular, the office:

  • promotes the educational offerings abroad, in accordance with the strategic guidelines defined by the University, by:
    • monitoring foreign students’ enrolments in relation to their geographical area
    • planning participation to international education fairs throughout the year
    • updating information materials and platforms
       
  • manages all administrative procedures regarding incoming and outgoing students, professors, research fellows and technical-administrative staff on study or traineeship mobility programmes, in the framework of European and extra-European schemes and agreements with foreign universities. This includes producing information materials, handling financial aspects and liaising with students’ associations, national agencies working on behalf of the European Commission, faculty members and foreign universities
  • plans, implements and manages services for incoming students, PhD students, research fellows, postdoctoral fellows and visiting professors who teach or conduct research at the University of Milan, to facilitate their relocation and integration on campus and in the city
  • collaborates with other University offices to provide unambiguous and complete information, also with regard to the English translation of the sections of the University website concerning international initiatives and training programmes
  • provides administrative support for the organisation of educational initiatives aimed at attracting foreign graduates, PhD students and visiting professors
  • collaborates with other divisions to implement and manage the information system for the recording and systemic monitoring of data related to internationalisation activities and their outcomes
  • plans and manages cultural initiatives for foreign guests and contributes to the organisation of on-campus events to welcome foreign delegations.
