Unit role and responsibilities

The Academic Board is responsible for the management of the interdepartmental Master's degree programme in Data Science for Economics. This degree, which is taught entirely in English, is designed to meet the job market demand for economic data scientists. Through the coursework, students learn how to use the latest methods of data management, machine learning, statistical learning and cloud computing to analyse and understand the nature of data. Graduates in Data Science for Economics are able to extract meaningful relationships and recurring patterns from data, as well as to build predictive and nowcasting models to integrate data from different sources and domains (companies, markets, administrations, healthcare, social media). Furthermore, they are fully equipped to analyse the effects of economic and social policies, investments, marketing campaigns, and other activities related to economics and biostatistics.
