Il laureato del Corso di Laurea in Educazione Professionale dovrà saper:
·programmare, gestire e verificare interventi educativi mirati alla promozione della salute e allo sviluppo delle potenzialità di soggetti in difficoltà, per il raggiungimento di livelli sempre più avanzati di autonomia;
·contribuire a promuovere e organizzare strutture e risorse sociali e sanitarie, al fine di realizzare progetti educativi integrati;
·programmare, organizzare, gestire e verificare le proprie attività professionali all'interno di servizi socio-sanitari e strutture socio-sanitarie-riabilitative e socio-educative, in modo coordinato e integrato con altre figure professionali presenti nelle strutture, con il coinvolgimento dei soggetti interessati e/o delle loro famiglie, dei gruppi, della collettività;
·operare sulle famiglie e sul contesto sociale, allo scopo di favorire processi di integrazione e aggregazione sociale;
·promuovere e gestire attività a carattere di animazione;
·partecipare ad attività di studio, ricerca e documentazione finalizzate agli scopi sopra elencati.

L'Educatore Professionale è l'Operatore sociale e sanitario previsto dal D.M. del Ministero della Sanità, 8 ottobre 1998, n. 520. Il corso di laurea abilita all'esercizio della professione.
Il laureato in Educazione Professionale formula e realizza progetti educativi volti a promuovere lo sviluppo equilibrato della personalità, il recupero e il reinserimento sociale di persone con menomazioni psicofisiche, in situazioni di rischio e di emarginazione sociale. Lavora con bambini, giovani, adulti, anziani, per prevenire e superare difficoltà e disagio sociali dovuti a disabilità, devianza, dipendenza, povertà, marginalità, malattia mentale. Come definito dal DM 520/98 l'Educatore Professionale svolge la sua attività professionale in servizi sanitari, socio-sanitari e socio-educativi pubblici o privati, sul territorio, nelle strutture residenziali e semiresidenziali, in regime di dipendenza o libero professionale. I servizi possono essere di carattere ambulatoriale (p.e. Ser.T., Centri Psico Sociali o Centri d'Igiene Mentale, Centri di Primo Accoglimento, ecc.), diurno (Centri Socio Educativi, Degenze Diurne Riabilitative, Centri Diurno Integrati, Centri di Aggregazione Giovanile, Centri Diurni Psichiatrici, ecc.), residenziale (Comunità Riabilitative, Residenze Sanitarie Assistenziali, Comunità psichiatriche, Comunità per persone Disabili, ecc.)

The University of Milan - Professional Education degree course has developed a great interest in the internationalization.
The research of famous European universities which could fully match those of Italian courses and activities has currently allowed a bilateral agreement with the University La Salle (Madrid) where Erasmus Plus Program plans for and allows students all the usual assignment of an university course such as lectures, examinations and clinical clerkship. Students in a different clinical context may be also favored to process their thesis.
Erasmus program was created in 1987 precisely to ensure that European students could perform the same clerkships and educational activities in another European university aiming to develop the scientific and relational capabilities of its students inside cultural and teaching contests different from the Italian one.
Erasmus Plus program is now provided for our students which are attending their third year of the course by offering a six months training period supported by a grant.
Training activities included during the learning period spent abroad must be approved by the scientific coordinators of two teaching centers and the President of the degree course.
All these activities, arranged with the guest university by a Learning Agreement, are consistent with the Italian syllabus of the Professional Education courses. Students may be supported by Erasmus Coordinator in identifying foreign lectures and scientific assignments which could match those of the Italian course to warrant the achievement of the CFU required by the Italian curriculum.
For the final evaluation of the clerkships and exams' grades achieved attending European universities the University of Milan-Professional Education Course adopts the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and the conversion in thirties grades shared by the three Medicine and Surgery lines of the University of Milan. Under this regulation 30 ECTS (CFU) are acknowledged for a six (6) months period abroad. Grades and clerkships will be validated and added to the student's Italian curriculum.

La frequenza a tutte le attività didattiche previste dal manifesto degli studi è obbligatoria.
