Learning objectives
The goal of the course is to provide knowledge regarding the relationship between humans and plants, in many aspects and over a long time scale, through the study that starts from archaeological sites. The course aims to promote the acquisition of an interdisciplinary perspective that includes the aspects related to Botany and its applications to Archaeology.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will learn about the fundamentals of sampling and the interpretation of botanical findings from archaeological sites. The student will acquire the ability to understand the literature and methodologies of paleoecological, palynological, and ethnobotanical studies. The student will be able to recognize the connection between basic research and applied research in relation to socio-environmental issues and will be able to critically discuss what has been learned. Furthermore, they will learn to use correct scientific language.
